How can interactions on Reddit affect you?
Reddit is made up of communities called subreddits, where users can post content and discuss topics.
While Reddit has content policies and moderation in place, you may still come across:
Cyberbullying, harassment or doxxing
Discussions that spread misinformation or misleading advice
Harmful or extreme views in certain communities
Because interactions can be anonymous and moderation may vary across communities, it may feel more difficult to deal with harmful content or behaviour. If you find yourself in such a situation, then it may be time to adjust your settings to protect yourself.
What are Reddit’s default protections for younger users?
The minimum age to create a Reddit account in Singapore is 13 years old. Some privacy and safety settings are turned on by default to give younger users aged 13 to 17 extra protection.
